Christen Købke: Bondekone. 1832 THE GOLDEN AGE The Golden Age of Danish Art, more precisely the style between 1800 and 1850, is presented by works of art by N.A. Abildgaard, Jens Juel, C.W. Eckersberg, C.A. Jensen, J. Th. Lundbye, Jørgen Sonne, Wilhelm Marstrand, Jørgen Roed, P.C. Skovgaard, Christen Købke, Vilhelm Kyhn etc.

Among the treasures of the Golden Age collection is Købke´s small portrait of an old peasant woman. The portrait is one of the rare examples of expressive character sketches from the period.
